Who we are
Loyal Translations is a translation and localisation agency based at 21 Ashe Grove, Brackenstown, Swords, Co. Dublin, K67 H340, Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect through loyal-translations.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. Any question about this policy, or a request relating to your data, can be sent to support@loyal-translations.com.
What personal data we collect
When you request a quote, contact us, or send a document, we collect: your name; your email address; your phone number, if you give it; the content of your message or project description; and any document you choose to upload. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect anonymised usage data about how you browse the site (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To deliver a translation you’ve commissioned and invoice for it — performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To understand how the site is used, if you consent to analytics cookies — your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via “Cookie Settings” in the footer.
- To meet our own legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
How long we keep it
Contact and quote-request details are kept for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and, if the work goes ahead, for the duration of the engagement plus the period required for our accounting and tax obligations under Irish law. Documents uploaded to request a quote are used only to prepare that quote and are not retained once the quote is issued and not taken up, or once a commissioned job is complete. Analytics data collected via Google Analytics 4 is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings, currently 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal data. It’s shared only with:
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited), if you’ve consented to analytics cookies — processing anonymised usage statistics. Data may be processed on Google’s infrastructure outside the EEA, in which case Google’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply as the transfer safeguard.
- The linguists working on your job, where you’ve commissioned a translation — bound to the same confidentiality standard we apply ourselves, and to a signed NDA where one is in place.
- Our email and hosting providers, purely to operate the contact form and deliver our service — not for their own marketing purposes.
We do not use any other third-party marketing or advertising tool on this site.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to run the site and, only with your consent, Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Full detail, including how to change your choice at any time, is in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure of your data, where applicable; restrict or object to certain processing; and request that your data be provided to you in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email support@loyal-translations.com. We’ll respond within one month. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Data security
Documents and personal data are transmitted and stored securely and are accessible only to the people who need them to respond to your enquiry or deliver your translation.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
