General & Process
How do I get a quote?
Send your document or describe the job through the contact form — upload a file if you have one. We reply with a fixed price and a turnaround time within 1 business hour, Monday to Friday.
Who actually does the translation?
One professional linguist translates your document, then an independent second linguist reviews it before it's delivered. Both are qualified in the relevant language pair and subject area — never machine translation passed off as human work.
Can I speak to someone directly?
Yes. Loyal Translations is a small team working from one office in Swords, Co. Dublin. You'll deal with the same point of contact throughout a job, by phone or email.
Do you use machine translation?
No document is delivered as raw machine output. Where translation software supports a linguist's workflow, every sentence is still translated and checked by a human. Post-editing of existing machine-translated text is offered as its own service, clearly labelled as such.
What languages do you work in?
Our regular language pairs are listed on the homepage and the Services page. If your language isn't listed, ask — we work with a wider network of vetted linguists beyond our regular pairs.
Certified & Official Documents
What does "certified translation" mean in Ireland?
Ireland has no state register of sworn translators. A certified translation here is one accompanied by a signed Certificate of Accuracy — a declaration from the translator confirming the translation is complete and accurate, with their name, signature, date and contact details. That certificate is what receiving authorities look for.
Will my certified translation be accepted?
We format and certify documents to the standard typically required by INIS/ISD, the Courts Service, universities, and embassies. We can't guarantee a specific authority's decision, since requirements vary case by case — if you've already been given specific formatting instructions, send them with your document and we'll follow them.
Do I need to send the original document?
A clear scan or photo is usually enough — we translate from what you send. Some authorities want the certified translation presented alongside the original; check your own checklist and let us know if you need anything arranged to match it.
Is "certified" the same as "notarised"?
No. Certification means the Certificate of Accuracy travels with the translation. Notarisation is a separate legal step, carried out by a notary public, and is only needed if the authority you're submitting to specifically asks for it — tell us if that's the case and we'll advise.
What if my translation is rejected?
Rare, but if it happens because of an error on our side, we'll correct it at no charge. Get in touch and tell us what the authority said.
Pricing & Payment
How is the price worked out?
It depends on the service: certified documents are priced per page, specialist translation (legal, medical, business, technical) per word, interpreting and proofreading per hour, and localisation per project. Full rates are on the Pricing page, and every quote states the price before any work begins.
Is the quote binding?
Yes — once we've seen your document (or your word count is confirmed), the price we quote is the price you pay, with no surprise charges.
What if I only have a rough idea of length?
Use the estimator on the Pricing page for an indicative range, then send the actual document for a firm quote — the final price always depends on the document itself.
How do I pay?
We invoice on completion, or on agreed milestones for larger projects, payable by bank transfer. Payment terms are confirmed with your quote.
Is there a rush option?
Yes, on every service — a rush surcharge applies and the exact turnaround is confirmed at quote stage, since it depends on current workload.
Confidentiality & Data
Is my document kept confidential?
Yes. Every document is handled in confidence as standard, and a signed non-disclosure agreement is available on request at no extra charge.
What happens to my file after the job?
Files are used only to prepare and deliver your translation. They're not retained once the job is complete or if a quote isn't taken up — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Is my data handled under GDPR?
Yes. We're based in Ireland and handle personal data under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Details of what we collect and why are in our Privacy Policy.
Can I send sensitive medical or financial documents safely?
Yes — this is routine for us. Files are transmitted and stored securely and accessed only by the linguists working on your job.
Turnaround & Delivery
How long does a translation take?
It depends on the service and document length — standard and rush timelines for each service are on that service's page and on the Pricing page. As a guide, a short certified document is typically 2–3 business days; longer specialist documents take longer.
How quickly will I get a quote?
Within 1 business hour during our working hours, Monday to Friday.
How is my translation delivered?
By email, in the same or an equivalent format to what you sent — a PDF certified translation, an editable Word document, or your original file format for localisation work.
Can you meet a same-day or next-day deadline?
Often, yes, as a rush job — get in touch with your deadline and we'll confirm whether it's achievable and what the rush surcharge is before you commit.
